Rillito Park Race Track

As Tucson is a city with a huge interest in horses, it comes as no surprise that there is a racetrack here. It has been going on since the early 1940’s. The track has recently been remodeled and offers facilities for Thoroughbreds, Quarterhorses and Arabians.

Arabians are very popular here and the world renowned Al Mira stables are headquartered here in Tucson. Trainers such as Kentucky Derby winner Bob Baffert have trained horses at Rillito Downs Park.

The Southern Arizona Horse Breeders Association has worked on many improvements to the sport including photo-electric timers, grading races and weighted handicaps.

The grounds offers a 5/8 miles track, two restaurants, the training area, grandstands as well as special events.
