A great way to spend several hours is to go to this interesting and
informative museum whose main goal is to educate the public about the
increasing need to be responsible for the wildlife in our world.
The museum was founded in 1988 and features over 400 species of mammals,
birds and insects from around the world. These specimens were donated
by government agencies, wildlife rehabilitation centers, captive breeding
farms, zoos and hunters. Some collections are over 100 years old.
Some of the favorite spots are the interactive computer stations with
games, information and quizzes. There are also Hands-on areas where
the signs actually encourage you to touch.
This is a close up look at animals you may never see in real life.
The dioramas present the animals in as close to real life settings as
possible. Bring your lunch, learn something new, enjoy the gift shop
and have a great day!
